Army Of Mushrooms, released today on Dim Mak Records, is Infected Mushroom’s eighth and most stylistically varied album to date. It made its debut at #1 on iTunes’ Dance/Electronic Albums chart and #47 on the overall album chart.
“This is really huge news for myself and us at Dim Mak that this orchestra of music on this album hit #1 on iTunes,” states Dim Mak founder and label head Steve Aoki. “We are the biggest fans and supporters of Infected Mushroom and with this album you can hear the direction they are going in diversifying their sound production and composition. Go Infected Mushroom!”
Singer Amit “Duvdev” Duvdevani says, ”Holy Fu*#! Infected Mushroom has the #1 dance album in America, ahead of David Guetta and Tiësto? What happened?”
Known as masters of psytrance, Infected Mushroom’s Duvdevani and Erez Eisen take a slightly different direction on Army Of Mushrooms, blending sounds of electro and dubstep into their mix. The album features singles “Nation of Wusses,” an instrumental, and “U-R-So-Fucked,” which has the duo dipping their toes into dubstep laced with an operatic vocal. The album also includes a 2012 remake of fan favorite “The Messenger.” There’s also a unique drum n’ bass inspired cover of the Foo Fighters’ “The Pretender”
